صدر الأمر السامي بالموافقة على تعيين رباب الكتبي عضواً في مجلس منطقة مكة المكرمة في فترته الثامنة لمدة (4) سنوات، وتعد الدكتورة رباب الكتبي من الكفاءات الوطنية المتخصصة في الصحة العامة، حيث تمتلك مسيرة أكاديمية وبحثية امتدت بين السعودية والمملكة المتحدة، وأسهمت خلالها في عدد من الملفات والبرامج الوطنية ذات الصلة بسلامة المرضى وتطوير الممارسات الصحية.
وحصلت الكتبي على درجة الدكتوراه في العلوم الطبية الحيوية والرعاية الصحية من جامعة بليموث بالمملكة المتحدة وماجستير الصحة العامة من جامعة فلندرز في أستراليا وبكالوريوس علوم الأغذية من جامعة أم القرى، كما حصلت على عدد من الشهادات المهنية والأكاديمية من بينها زمالة التعليم العالي البريطانية وشهادات متخصصة في الابتكار وإدارة وقيادة الاستراتيجيات والمشاريع.
وشغلت عدداً من المناصب المتخصصة من أبرزها مدير إدارة برامج سلامة المرضى ومديرة إدارة الأبحاث والابتكار في المركز السعودي لسلامة المرضى، كما عملت باحثة رئيسية في جامعة بليموث بالمملكة المتحدة في مجالات التغذية والصحة العامة.
وأسهمت الكتبي من خلال مسيرتها البحثية في أبحاث علمية ذات أثر على الممارسات الصحية، حيث قادت بحثاً علمياً أسهم في تعديل توصيات للصحة العامة في المملكة المتحدة، كما نشرت عدداً من الأبحاث المحكمة في مجلات علمية دولية تناولت مجالات الصحة العامة والتغذية والسمنة وسلامة المرضى.
ويأتي انضمام الدكتورة رباب الكتبي إلى مجلس المنطقة إضافة نوعية تعكس حضور الكفاءات الوطنية المتخصصة في صناعة القرار التنموي والاستفادة من الخبرات العلمية والبحثية في دعم مسيرة التنمية وتعزيز جودة الحياة وخدمة المجتمع.
The royal decree has been issued approving the appointment of Rabab Al-Katbi as a member of the Makkah Region Council for its eighth term for a period of (4) years. Dr. Rabab Al-Katbi is considered one of the national competencies specialized in public health, with an academic and research career that has spanned between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, during which she has contributed to several national files and programs related to patient safety and the development of health practices.
Al-Katbi obtained her PhD in Biomedical Sciences and Healthcare from the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom, a Master’s in Public Health from Flinders University in Australia, and a Bachelor’s in Food Science from Umm Al-Qura University. She has also received several professional and academic certifications, including a Fellowship in Higher Education from the UK and specialized certificates in innovation, management, and leadership of strategies and projects.
She has held several specialized positions, most notably as the Director of Patient Safety Programs and the Director of Research and Innovation at the Saudi Center for Patient Safety. She also worked as a principal researcher at the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom in the fields of nutrition and public health.
Through her research career, Al-Katbi has contributed to scientific research that has impacted health practices, leading a scientific study that contributed to modifying public health recommendations in the United Kingdom. She has also published several peer-reviewed studies in international scientific journals addressing areas of public health, nutrition, obesity, and patient safety.
Dr. Rabab Al-Katbi’s joining the regional council represents a qualitative addition that reflects the presence of national competencies specialized in developmental decision-making and the utilization of scientific and research expertise to support the development process, enhance quality of life, and serve the community.
